Sea glass Beach in Okinawa

We recently moved (again!) and as I was trying to find homes for all our everythings in our new home, I happened across a collection of sea glass we collected while we lived in Okinawa. Our elementary aged boys were always up for an adventure. We brought buckets for collecting on our outing to Sea Glass Beach but planned to take home only our very favorite bits. It took some looking but once you starting finding glass, it was hard to stop! We found bits of green, blue, white and brown sea glass. My boys also really enjoyed discovering creatures in the tide pools. We would have stayed longer but there are no facilities or amenities at this secluded spot, so it wasn’t an all day outing, but definitely worth a visit!

Tips:

  • Be sure to check tide tables and plan to visit at low tide.

  • Sturdy water shoes are best for exploring the rocky outcroppings and searching for glass bits.

  • There are no bathrooms, facilities or amenities so plan ahead.
